Ring Bearer Numero Dos

Luke Ryan Perkins

This kid cracks me up
He probably has more energy than anybody I know
He's always wanting to go outside
And play basketball....ALL THE TIME!
He LOVES basketball. And he's obsessed with the Thunder.
Basketball is played a lot at his house. And he's always Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook.
He gets very mad if someone tries to pretend they're Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook.
Exhibit A:
*Shooting baskets in the living room, Leah (my sister/Luke's mom), makes 3 in a row.
-Leah: Woo!!! I'm Kevin Durant!
-Luke: No! You're not Kevin Durant!
-Leah: Okay fine, I'm Westbrook.
-Luke: (temper rising) NO!! You are NOT Russell Westbrook and you are NOT Kevin Durant!!!!
-Leah: Well who am I then?!
-Luke: (VERY angry) You Jeff Green!!!
Hahahahahaha this kid knows his basketball.
I love that he used to call me Auntie Sis.
And I love that he now calls me Auntie Wiz.
And that he stares up at me with those big blue eyes.
And that he loves Darren. And Darren loves him just as much.
When he sees me these are the first words out of his mouth: "Hey Auntie Wiz, where's Darren?"
At least he tells me "Hey" first.
And I LOVE that he is sharing his birthday with my wedding day. June 11th will always be a special special day for the both of us. =)

See the energy below....he has a ton of it. He's funny.

I love you Luke Ryan. I hope you never grow out of calling me Auntie Wiz!

Ring Bearer Numero Uno

One, or should I say TWO, of the things that I am so very happy to have on my wedding day are my sweet (ornery) nephews/ring bearers.

Ethan:
This little guy makes me smile everytime I see him. So stinkin cute.
Only he's not so little anymore...He just turned 4 on May 7! Sorry I missed your party buddy.
He loves Toy Story, Cars, and now apparently Fire Fighters and Trucks as well (he had a fire fighter birthday party).
I'll never forget the first time he said my name. It was on my 18th birthday and it came out "Iz." Best birthday present ever.
He's too smart for his own good, and is very proud that his daddy is an "anesthesia doctor, who works at Scott&White, and helps the sick people."
He's also super funny. This is the conversation that ensued when Darren and I got engaged:
-Suni: Ethan, what is Aunt Liz going to do?
-Ethan: Aunt Liz is gonna get married.
-Suni: And who is Aunt Liz marrying?
-Ethan: I don't remember!
-Suni: Yes you do...we talked about it earlier. Think about it.
*Ethan walks upstairs where he sees Darren studying.
-Ethan: Hey.
-Darren: Hey Ethan.
-Ethan: You marrying Aunt Liz?
-Darren: Yeah..........
-Ethan: Okay. Whatch your name??

Ethan, Aunt Liz loves you so so much. Please don't forget about me even though you live in Texas and I don't see you as much. I'm so glad that your mommy and daddy decided to have you, and I cant wait to see you this weekend!!!!!

~P.S. Luke-don't get your feelings hurt. You will be receiving a shoutout on my blog shortly. =)

I Love My Momma

So I know this is a little belated since Mothers Day was two days ago, but I couldn't help but go ahead and post a little something about my mom.

I have the best mom in the world. It's true.
She has done so much for me, and so much for the wedding.
I don't know what I'd do without her.
She helped me pick out my dress.
And my shoes.
She went with me to many many venues, before convincing me that she would do whatever it took to have the backyard wedding I really wanted.
She picked up the bridesmaids dresses.
She figured out a way to make the mason jars.
She found and hired a caterer.
She researched several places and ordered tables, chairs, and linens.
She told me I could have the photographer I wanted.
She helped me pick out invitations, put them together, address them.
She went with me to antique stores to buy vases for centerpieces.
She spent a good 4 hours on the computer looking up where we could buy coral peonies so I could have the flowers that I really wanted.
She went with me to register, and didn't complain once about my indecisiveness.
She hugged me and rubbed my back when I started getting stressed out about everything.
And when I say everything, I mean everything.
She is sewing all 20 table runners herself for the tables at the reception.
Her green thumb has planted many beautiful flowers to make our backyard look just right for June 11.
She has unselfishly given her time, money, and love. Just for me.
She doesn't realize how much she does for not only me, but for my whole family.
I love you, Mom.
God knew what I needed when he gave me you.
Happy Mothers Day.
